Congenital Macrothrombocytopenia is described in the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. While considered rare in humans, it is estimated that 30-50% of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels have inherited this disorder.

- Genetic testing can save your dog from undergoing a battery of tests to rule out other causes of macrothrombocytopenia: infectious, inflammatory, autoimmune, or toxic.
